A Weekend in Sodom and Gamora

On Friday afternoon, Derek and I (aka Adam and Steve)  headed to San Francisco - one of my favorite cities in the world. That beautiful metropolis is universally acknowledged by consevatives as the Mecca for the homosexual elite - and derided by Sarah Palin because it isn't part of "real America." I'm sure you know I love San Francisco. I'm a big homo and not a real American, I'm not patriotic, I support killing babies, I don't support our men and women in uniform, and I'm a socialist. What else would you expect?

We flew on one of my favorite airlines - Virgin America (aka a foreign airline). The price was low, the service was excellent, the seats were comfortable - and we arrived on time! How can you beat that combination? That airline is so awful, they actually treat their customers well. What could be more un-American than that? We should have flown in one of those dirty Alaska Airlines planes that cost more money - but at least you get a prayer card with your meal.

At about 3pm we checked into the San Francisco Marriott at 4th and Mission (owned by a liberal gay lovin' Mormon family). God help America, the hotel personnel even tolerated us holding hands in the lobby. It was as if they didn't even notice! Then we relaxed for the afternoon until we met up with my brother and his fantastic girlfriend (also a San Francisco elitist) for a delicious dinner. It started with some good wine and cheese at their apartment on the edge of Pacific Heights. Then we went to a neighborhood Italian restaurant. Dinner was relaxing and enjoyable and snobby (par for the course).

The next day, Derek and I had a yummy breakfast in the hotel and then took a bus tour around the city. Afterward, we walked through Yerba Buena gardens while the San Francisco Family Festival was going on (who knew they have families in SF?). Then we toured the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (further evidence of our elite status) and we enjoyed it. We finished by strolling through the Metreon entertainment complex and played some video some games.

Saturday night we had some of the best tempura and sushi either of us had ever tasted. The restuarant, located in the Castro district, was simple and relaxed, but the food was spectacular - every morsel. Afterward, full and satisfied we wandered through several Castro neighborhood stores and then returned on Muni to the Marriott for a nightcap in the 39th floor cocktail lounge. The view was beautiful across the city looking south along Market Street toward the guilded dome of City Hall (clearly an anti-democratic institution).

Sunday morning breakfast was again in the hotel restaurant. Soon we checked out and headed to SFO on BART (another socialist organiztion). We were back in Seattle by 4pm after another terrific flight on Virgin America, including a tasty lunch. My only regret was the way I redistributed my wealth by buying an airline ticket for which the price included federal and local taxes. Damn! Those liberals got me again.

But seriously, the weekend was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable I have ever had. I thank Derek for that. He kept me laughing, he made me feel special, and the picture album on the left shows some evidence of the same.

I returned home on Sunday to discover my entire trip had been a tour of an anti-patriotic, un-American, pro-abortion, and immoral city that is not the real part of America - and I enjoyed it? Imagine my shock to discover I'm not a real American. Thank God we have Sarah Palin and John McCain to remind everyone how much we liberals hate out country. I had so much fun over the weekend that I almost fogot my plot to destroy the moral fabric of my country. Whew! I need to go out and recrute some innocent guys into the homosexual lifestyle, or I might lose my membership in the liberal elite.

...but I'm not bitter.

Victimhood

I have become a victim of crime.

My truck is parked on the street. This afternoon I went out to get in the vehicle for a trip to the grocery store and to re-park it in a different spot. I turned the engine on and it started to roar like a hog. At first I thought my muffler had a hole in in, but once I looked underneath the truck, I realized the catalytic converter had been stolen. Literally, all that was left was four bolts lying on the ground.

I filed a crime report. I have scheduled a replacement at a body shop for tomorrow, but I have to call for a tow because SPD told me it's illegal to drive without the catalytic converter. It looks like this will set me back about $100 for my deductible. The SPD operator said many trucks have fallen victim to this criminal activity - especially here in north Seattle. Apparently, the thieves sell the metal as scrap, especially for the platinum.

I love my new neighborhood, but right now I'm missing Magnolia. I think it's time to sell the truck.

Add to that bad news the fact my furnace isn't working again, which means I had to call my heating contractor. Hopefully, this repair will be covered under my yearly maintenance agreement. Isn't the weekend off to a lovely start?
