Deciding on a cruise line for my hard earned vacation dollars is not easy. But a moderate amount of experience, along with advice from other cruisers (including my sister, a TA) helped me create the comparison below.

I chose to compare Princess, HAL, and Celebrity because those were the lines I heard were most in line with my tastes and budget. As with all comparisons, this information is highly subjective - so take it for what you will.

Finally, I chose to compare only our favorite class of cabin - a mini-suite. Comparisons for other classes of cabins will vary. Thus, you will notice the scores at the bottom are very close. My partner and I have chosen to stick with Princess for three basic reasons: all around value, a consitently welcoming policy toward gay couples, as well as the best frequent cruiser program in the industry. That said, we have already tried HAL and found some things to be very impressive. I suspect the same will happen when we finally try Celebrity. Still, my assessment still rings true for us. Perhaps it will be of use for you. Perhaps not.
